Missing Parcels? Here’s Why Proof of Handover Is Essential for Lazada Sellers

When handing over parcels to a shipping provider, many sellers assume the job is done. However, without a Proof of Handover (POH), your shipment isn’t officially recognised by Lazada’s logistics system. A POH is essential to establish accountability and safeguard your parcels against disputes, delays, or loss.

Below, we’ll break down why it’s important, how it works for both LEX and non-LEX sellers, and what to do if you don’t receive one.

What is a Proof of Handover (POH)?

A POH is your proof that the courier has received your parcels. It shows:

  • How many parcels were picked up or dropped off.

  • That each parcel was properly scanned and accepted by the courier.

If you hand over parcels without a scan, there's no record that you gave them to the courier. This can lead to problems like your parcel being marked as missing. Always double-check that the parcel count in the POH is correct before the courier leaves.

Types of Proof of Handover (Based on Shipping Method)

Whether you're using LEX or other logistics providers, Lazada provides different ways to confirm that your parcels have been successfully handed over. Here’s what to expect:

For LEX Pickup Sellers

1. Sign-Off on the Driver’s Device (Mandatory)
If you use LEX Pickup, you must sign on the driver’s app after all your parcels are scanned.

This sign-off confirms:

  • Parcels marked as “Arrange Shipment” or “Ready to Ship” were picked up.

  • Any parcels not handed over are clearly recorded. Reasons could include:

    • Invalid or unreadable airway bills (shipping labels)

    • Prohibited or oversized items

    • Poor packaging

    • LEX truck is already full

2. Email Confirmation (Pickup & Drop-off)

Once the courier accepts your parcels, Lazada sends an email confirmation to the main Seller Center email.

There are two types:

  • Pickup Email Confirmation: Includes parcel details and pickup time.

  • Drop-off Email Confirmation: Confirms parcels were accepted at a Drop-Off Point (DOP).

3. Order Status Update in Lazada Seller Center
No matter how you hand over your parcels, your order status will be automatically updated in the Lazada Seller Center.

To check the status:

Seller Center Homepage > Orders > Shipping > Logistic Status

What to Do If You Don’t Receive a POH or Status Update

If you don’t get a Proof of Handover (POH) email or see a status update in Seller Center within 24 hours after handing over your parcels, it could mean something went wrong.

In this case, you should immediately contact Lazada’s Partner Care Specialist (PCS) team. They can help check what happened and make sure your parcels are tracked properly.
